The 2025 USATF Niagara Grand Prix is underway!

March 15th was the first race in the 2025 USATF Niagara Grand Prix series, as thousands of runners congregated in downtown Rochester for the beloved Running of the Green 5-mile road race. Bucking the trend of the past several years, conditions were actually fairly good for running quick (despite a moderate headwind on the first half).

As usual, Roadkill Racing had its work cut out for us as we battled stiff competition and stacked teams. The allure of spring, and the chance to shake off the dust and check your fitness, draws plenty of racers out of the woodwork for this race.

On the women’s side, our incredible open team held off Bergen Elite and GVH to take first place. The scoring team consisted of Lindsay Piraino, Laura Galeazzo, Trisha Byler, Inga Simning, Camryn Cortez, Melanie Zimmerman, and Amanda Dole.

The open men also faired well, taking second place behind Bergen Elite and ahead of GVH and Checkers. The scoring members here were Kenny Goodfellow, Aaron Nobles, Jordan Brouk, Brett Smith, AJ Hameline, Jack Erickson, and Luke Dunkelberg.

The masters men also took second, behind GVH, but ahead of Checkers and Bergen. Tim Dwyer, Dan Sackett, Chad Byler, Dave Presby, Pete Sullivan, John Deiure, and Jesus Melendez Vicente scored on that team.

Last but not least, the masters women also picked up points by finishing third, behind Checkers and GVH, and ahead of GBTC. Their placing was thanks to Michelle Hays, Maria Palacio, Cathie Trabucco, Kaye Treanor, Erin Caffrey, Val Kean, and Martha Doody.
