A Weekend of PRs and Podiums

A great long weekend of racing for the team! Friday night saw the Open Men’s and Women’s teams travel to Buffalo for the USATF 5k Championship race. The women’s team came away with second place, with Trisha Byler finishing 3rd female overall in a time of 17:36. Lindsay Piraino finished close on her heels, followed by Blair Benson and Georgia Tuttle. The women’s team was rounded out by Alexi Bulloch, Ashlie Roberts, and Lauren Goodfellow. The Women’s team remains in first place for the USATF Niagara Club Grand Prix!

The men’s team came in third with a whole slew of personal bests – Kenny Goodfellow, who finished 6th overall, snagged himself a shiny new 5K PR of 15:22. Aaron Nobles shaved a second off of his 5K time for a 15:54 finish, and Kraig Connor knocked a whopping 22 seconds off of his previous best for a time of 17:27. The men’s team was rounded off by Jack Erickson and Jeremy Cook.

Still hungry for more, the next day Kenny Goodfellow crushed it once again for a 5th place overall finish at the Karnocker 5k in 15:28, and Trisha Byler blazed her way to yet another 2nd place female finish in 18:23.

But our team was not finished. At the Oaktree Half Marathon on Sunday, Lindsay Piraino absolutely DOMINATED the women’s field to defend her first place finish from 2022. She finished 8th overall and first on the women’s side in a time of 1:25:34, shaving 8 seconds off of her time from last year. Aaron Nobles secured second place overall, and broke an age group course record by over a minute.

Congratulations to everyone for such strong performances.  Next Stop on the list for RKR: Unlimited Breadsticks Trail Half!
