Congratulations to Roadkill racers Laura Galeazzo, Congratulations to Roadkill racers Laura Galeazzo, Inga Simning, and Dave Presby for taking three of the top four places in yesterday’s Black Diamond Express Half Marathon on the Lehigh Valley Trail in Mendon. Laura withstood a late charge from the second-place finisher and scored the overall win in 1:26:08. Meanwhile, Inga took third overall in 1:28:06, and Dave took fourth overall and first male in 1:29:50. Despite the hideous dew point and brutal humidity, all three performed valiantly and were satisfied with their performances, given the conditions. All three also noted how much they’re looking forward to cooler running conditions for the upcoming Fall racing season. 🍂🍁🎃🤩

Racing a mile is never a picnic, but our spies were out amongst the masses with ears open for feedback; the consensus was that this was an absolutely phenomenally-organized event from start to finish. Aside from the flat, fast course on the open roads being a refreshing change from 4 laps on a track, packet/number pickup was a breeze, the cotton tank giveaway was retro cool, and the generous sponsorship and close proximity to @resurgencebrewingco allowed everyone to gather and celebrate in an excellent setting well after all runners had crossed the finish line. What a great night! Let’s do this again next year!

It’s just the final stretch of lane 3 at Fairport’s all-weather track. Word has been floating around for the past several years that the archaic 6-lane track was due for an upgrade. Looks like it’s finally about to happen. Either that, or giant, track-eating zombie bunnies escaped from Stinky Farm just down the road across from the Perinton Rec Center and went to town.
